1. Seller identification
The seller is the publisher of the RootsAI platform, whose full legal details (company name, share capital, trade register, intra-community VAT number, registered office) are available on request at contact@rootsai.co. Director of publication reachable at the same address.
2. Products and services
RootsAI offers two paid plans:
- Annual subscription: €180 incl. VAT per year, billed annually (equivalent to €15/month). Unlimited narratives and premium archives unlocked, family invitations included.
- Keepsake PDF book: €9.99 incl. VAT, single purchase per order. Generation of a PDF frozen on the state of the tree at the time of purchase.
3. Order and formation of the contract
The order is formed by cart validation, explicit acceptance of these Terms and payment. A confirmation email summarizing the order is sent immediately. The contract is concluded in French and archived by RootsAI for 10 years.
4. Prices and VAT
Prices are expressed in euros all taxes included, with French VAT at the applicable rate for French customers. For customers established in another EU Member State, the customer country VAT may apply (OSS scheme). RootsAI reserves the right to modify its prices at any time, it being understood that current subscriptions remain billed at the price in force at their last renewal.
5. Payment
Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS certified provider in euros (EUR). Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards are accepted.
6. Auto-renewal and cancellation (Chatel Law)
The annual subscription is subject to tacit renewal. In accordance with article L.215-1 of the French Consumer Code, RootsAI informs the User by email, between three months and one month before the term, of the possibility not to renew their subscription. In the absence of cancellation, the subscription is renewed for an identical period at the price in force at the renewal date. The User may cancel at any time, free of charge, from their personal space; the service remains active until the end of the current period, without pro-rata refund.
7. Online termination (article L.215-1-1)
In accordance with article L.215-1-1 of the French Consumer Code, subscription termination is accessible online via a dedicated feature, in a number of clicks less than or equal to that which allowed subscription, from the "My account › Billing" section.
8. Right of withdrawal
For the keepsake PDF book and the immediate supply of AI-enriched narratives: the User expressly requests, at the time of order, the immediate execution of the service before the expiration of the 14-day withdrawal period, and acknowledges thereby losing their right of withdrawal in accordance with article L.221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code. For other cases, the right of withdrawal is exercised within 14 days by email to contact@rootsai.co, with refund within 14 days via the original payment method.
9. Legal conformity warranty
The service is provided in accordance with articles L.224-25-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code relating to digital content and services. RootsAI guarantees the conformity of the service throughout its execution. In the event of a defect, the User may request compliance, a price reduction, or termination of the contract under the conditions provided by law.
10. Suspension in case of non-payment
In the event of a payment failure, RootsAI notifies the User and offers a new attempt within 7 days. In the absence of regularization within 15 days, access to the paid service is suspended. The tree and data remain preserved for 90 days before final deletion, unless a prior export request (GEDCOM, free) is made.
11. Customer service
For any question: contact@rootsai.co. A response is provided within five business days.
12. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the consumer User may have free recourse to the consumer mediator. In the absence of an amicable solution, French courts have sole jurisdiction.
